Community Hub – Üsküdar / İstanbul

Located in the historic neighborhood of Beylerbeyi on the Asian shore of İstanbul, this Community Hub is designed as an open and welcoming public space that strengthens social interaction, learning, and cultural exchange. Positioned within a residential fabric enriched by green landscapes and the Bosphorus' unique character, the project seeks to become a shared living room for the local community. The architectural concept is based on transparency, accessibility, and flexibility. Large glazed façades visually connect indoor activities with outdoor public spaces, encouraging participation and creating a sense of openness. The building accommodates a variety of functions—including workshops, educational spaces, meeting rooms, exhibition areas, and informal gathering spaces—allowing people of different ages and backgrounds to interact throughout the day. The surrounding landscape extends the building's social functions beyond its walls, creating outdoor areas for recreation, community events, and everyday encounters. Natural light, greenery, and carefully framed views enhance the users' experience while reinforcing the relationship between architecture and its context. Rather than serving as a single-purpose facility, the Community Hub is envisioned as a dynamic civic platform—a place where education, creativity, culture, and social life intersect. By fostering inclusivity, collaboration, and a strong connection to its neighborhood, the project contributes to the social vitality of Beylerbeyi while respecting the cultural identity of Üsküdar and İstanbul.
